The Golf Club of Houston seems to cure all that ails Russell Henley. His 2017 Houston Open win was his fourth top-ten in as many years. No other player in the field can hold a candle to his 53-under-par cumulative total in that span.

He doesn’t need a win this week to qualify for Augusta as he did last year, freeing him up to freewheel at it a course he enjoys.

“I feel like I just manage the course well,” Henley said in 2017. “I know where to miss it and I feel comfortable. I feel like there’s a lot of room for me to hit the ball coming into the greens. That’s the best way I can describe it. I don’t really know other than that.”

Henley should be able to position himself well off the tee this week (13th in driving accuracy). His putting statistics aren’t great, but he has potential to get hot on the greens. How he’ll handle Augusta’s undulations worries me, but this week should allow Henley to birdie hunt once again.

Henley could already pick up his fourth top-25 of 2018 with a good week.
