Houston Open Power Rankings: Top ten players at Golf Club of Houston
By way of his top-four finish at the 2017 Open and his top-50 world ranking, Rafa Cabrera Bello is already in the field for Augusta. He’s first on the PGA Tour this season in strokes gained approaching the green. Cabrera Bello is not long off the tee, but save for a few par-4s, this course is very gettable for shorter players.
He had a nice finish in Houston in 2016, firing a Sunday seven-under 65 to surge to solo fourth place. RCB comes into the week off of a 1-2 finish at the WGC-Dell Match Play. His last stroke play start was also a WGC event; in Mexico, RCB fired four rounds in the 60s to tie for third.
He’s beginning to show his mettle against big fields. A win this week could give him momentum to play the role of dark horse in Augusta.
