Houston Open Power Rankings: Top ten players at Golf Club of Houston
Matt Kuchar got some of his groove back at last week’s WGC-Dell Match Play. He won his pool before eliminated on the 18th hole by eventual runner-up, Kevin Kisner.
Leading up to the Dell, Kuch posted four straight finishes of 40th or worse, a mini slump by his standards. It’s not like he’s been playing poorly, though.
He’s made 22 straight cuts with the last ironically coming at the Houston Open. I won’t let that be a deterrent this week. Kuchar posted top-10s in all three starts between 2010 and 2014 and in ‘14 lost in a playoff.
Kuchar’s putter has been solid all year. If he avoids the water, he’ll be able to pad his lagging ball striking stats this week.
