All Grace sees at Harbour Town are dollar signs.
The South African suits well for this style of golf. His win at the 2016 RBC Heritage is sandwiched with a T7 in 2015 and T11 last year in his three starts.
His countryman, Ernie Els, had a feeling this is a tournament Grace needs to keep on his schedule.
“…he thought it’s one that’s really going to suit my eye. It reminds me a little bit of Fancourt Links back home, because it’s linksy,” Grace said after his win in 2016. “You really have to see your thoughts. You have to hit a couple of different shots, not shots that you hit often.”
He comes in on solid form with a T24 last week at Augusta and a recent T8 at the Valspar Championship. Grace was solo runner-up at a minor European Tour event early in 2018 and has made all seven cuts.
I’m sure Grace would love to improve his ball striking numbers (74th in strokes gained tee-to-green), but his putting’s cured a lot of ails (sixth in strokes gained).
Grace will never be out of a hole here at Harbor Town and benefits on a thinking man’s layout.
