Open de España Power Rankings: Top 10 picks for Centro Nacional
Rafa Cabrera Bello is looking to continue a solid season in his native Spain.
RCB has three top-10 finishes on the European Tour since December including a T3 at the WGC-Mexico Championship. He’s missed just one cut in eight stroke play events and finished T38 at last week’s Masters.
The 33-year-old from the Canary Islands made a splash at this event in 2002 when he tied for fourth as an amateur. That’s still his best Open de España finish, though he has three more top-20s, including a T16 in 2016.
Cabrera Bello should do well in firm conditions. He’ll gain some length off the tee and has the chops to hang in around the greens.
He’s 22nd on the European Tour in scrambling and fifth in putts per GIR.
Cabrera Bello is much too talented to only have three European Tour wins in a career spanning more than a decade. This could be a great opportunity to pick up his second victory in as many years.
