Open de España Power Rankings: Top 10 picks for Centro Nacional
For a while, Andy Sullivan fell off the map after making the 2016 European Ryder Cup team.
The Englishman’s rounded back into form it appears. He’s made seven straight cuts dating back to 2017. Recently, he piled up three top-20s in a row highlighted by a T6 at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic where he shot 63 on Saturday.
"“It was just a bit of complacency,” Wallace was quoted by Golfweek in February. “I got to the Ryder Cup pretty early and achieved everything in really quick time, and you just don’t realise how hard you have to work to maintain these things. “I believe in my ability. I know what I can do on the golf course, so it’s just about me going out there and applying myself in the right way. I haven’t done that for a couple of years.”"
Sullivan is 12th in Greens in Regulation, but has had to roll in some longer putts to get in contention. If he can dial in his proximity both around the greens and on approaches, his ball striking is close to where it needs to be.
Sullivan is also 16th in strokes gained off the tee and near the top 50 in putting.
A win this week would go a long way to reassert Sullivan as an upper tier European player.
