PRETORIA, SOUTH AFRICA – MARCH 04: George Coetzee of South Africa plays out of the 18th greenside bunker during the final round of the Tshwane Open at Pretoria Country Club on March 4, 2018 in Pretoria, South Africa. (Photo by Warren Little/Getty Images) /

George Coetzee is hopeful the European Tour’s hiatus won’t cool him off.

The South African won his last start at the Tshwane Open in early March. It was his third straight finish of T13 or better on the European Tour after a slow start to his 2018.

Coetzee is hitting the ball beautifully these days. He’s fourth in driving distance (322.3 yards) and is gaining more than a stroke to the field on approach shots.

Pair his ball striking numbers with his 20th rank in strokes gained putting and there’s a compelling case to be made for Coetzee to become a back-to-back winner.
