Valero Texas Open: Power Rankings at TPC San Antonio
Si-Woo Kim’s been a professional for so long that it’s easy to forget he’s still just 22 years old.
He’d just be wrapping up college if he chose that route, so it’s worth allowing the talented young South Korean some leeway for his ups and downs.
Kim was hardly heard from after his breakthrough win at the 2017 PLAYERS Championship, but he appears back on the uptick.
He had last week’s RBC Heritage in his grasp until he fell back into a playoff won by Satoshi Kodaira.
Nonetheless, Kim’s still playing great golf. After a slow start to 2018, Kim won his pool at the WGC-Match Play and shot five-under on the weekend at Augusta for a T24.
Kim’s 39th on Tour in strokes gained tee-to-green, a ranking that could continue to improve. Heis short game is also solid, especially when the rest of his game is clicking.
If he continues at this clip, Kim could easily improve on his T22 at the 2017 Texas Open.
In reality, I just wanted Kim to have a spot here in the top 10 to have an excuse to post this video from the American Presidents Cup winners’ press conference. Funny enough, Kim and Spieth are right next to each other in the FedEx Cup rankings.
