Who said a Yellow Jacket and a Bulldog couldn’t get along?

Matt Kuchar, a Georgia Tech graduate, and Bubba Watson, a Georgia grad, are teaming up.

The two have played together just once in international competition (2014 Ryder Cup), but have represented the stars and stripes together going on a decade.

They made nine birdies together in an inspired effort in a loss to Justin Rose and Henrik Stenson at Gleneagles in ‘14.

Watson’s done well at TPC Louisiana. He won the 2011 Zurich Classic and finished T5 in 2007. Kuchar struggled here earlier in his career and hasn’t teed it up in New Orleans since 2009.

Waton’s also one of the hottest golfers on Tour this season with wins in Los Angeles and the Match Play and a T5 at the Masters. Kuchar’s been Kucharesque, compiling three top-10s and no missed cuts in 2017-18.

As long as he keeps his ball dry, this is a course Watson can bomb away at, especially if Kuchar is putting the ball in play in four ball.

It’s hard to find two more decorated players in the field. If they can put up Gleneagle like numbers again, they’ll be tough to beat.
