BEIJING, CHINA – MAY 01: Li Haotong of China holds the trophy after winning the Volvo China Open at Topwin Golf and Country Club on May 1, 2016 in Beijing, China. (Photo by Lintao Zhang/Getty Images) /

At just 22 years old, Haotong Li is the face of Chinese golf.

The weight of competing in front of home fans at the age of 20 apparently wasn’t too heavy as he won the China Open in 2016. He got better each day en route to a 22-under-par score, shooting 69-67-66-64.

Li defended his title nicely last year, tying for 11th. He’s 33-under through 72 holes, so this is a place where he feels comfortable.

Li also boasts a win at the Dubai Desert Classic in February where he fended off Rory McIlroy. He’s made his last three cuts entering the week.

His driving accuracy isn’t great, but he can play bomb and gouge at Topwin (310.0 yards average off the tee).

Li will be rested for this event. He took three weeks off after finishing T32 at the Masters.
