Wells Fargo Championship Power Rankings: Top 10 picks for Quail Hollow
Jason Day had a disappointing week at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans with partner Ryan Ruffels. The Aussie duo finished near the bottom of the pack of those who made the cut.
Fortunately, Day’s been awfully good on his own as he returns to traditional stroke play along with the rest of the Tour.
Day reentered the spotlight with a win at the Farmers Insurance Open and has three total top-fives. He hasn’t missed a cut since June 2017 and in that span hasn’t finished outside the top 27 in a stroke play event.
Day can hit it as far as any on Tour and he’s been very accurate off the tee, too (37th in fairways hit). He’s first in strokes gained putting and continues to post great short game numbers.
At the Wells Fargo Championship, Day placed T22 in 2010 and T9 in 2012. He finished T9 at last year’s PGA Championship.
A lot of attention will go to some other big names in the field, but this course sets up well for Day.
