The PLAYERS Championship Power Rankings: Top 10 at TPC Sawgrass
Getting down to these last few guys requires quite a lot of nitpicking. Reed’s playing as well as any right now.
By necessity, I’m pushing him back to the No. 3 slot due to his lack of a high finish here in four starts.
Reed has a pair of top-25s, though, so all is not lost. I like for his current form to lift him closer to contending this year.
A solo eighth-place finish last week at the Wells Fargo Championship makes five top-10s in a row, one of course being his Masters win. It’s six if you count his T7 with Patrick Cantlay at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
However you slice it, Reed’s playing awfully well. I wouldn’t put it past him to throw on the green jacket for a tournament round this week just to remind you.
Reed’s hitting his irons so pure this season. He’s inside the top 25 on Tour in proximity in every category between 100-200 yards.
The hot streak is due to run out eventually, but I like Reed to easily post his best PLAYERS Championship finish this year.
He’s made just four starts at TPC Sawgrass with a pair of top-25s to show for it. Experience is key here, and Reed is officially a Sawgrass veteran at this point.
