Zach Johnson PLAYERS Championship Fantasy Golf

Zach Johnson just keeps pushing forward through the 2018 PGA TOUR season. With 13 starts under his belt so far, Johnson is a perfect 13-for-13 in cuts made, with eight top-25 finishes and a pair of top-tens. In his last solo start, the Iowa native finished in solo fifth place at the Valero Texas Open, so he’s got some heat behind his game right now.

How is he doing it? The same way he always has – some of the crispest iron play on TOUR, and a putter that is heating up at just the right times. Johnson ranks third on TOUR in proximity to the hole on approach. That, of course, means shorter birdie putts, and he’s making those to the tune of more than four per round, good for 13th on TOUR. Basically, there are no glaring weaknesses in his game right now, and certainly none that raise big red flags at TPC Sawgrass.

Here’s the other thing you get for your relatively small $7,500 DraftKings investment: a course history that includes an impressive 12 made cuts in 13 career starts. Considering that Sawgrass has taken a bite out of some of the top stars in golf (Jordan Spieth’s three missed cuts say hello), that’s reason enough to slot the 2012 PLAYERS runner-up in your lineup.

Long story short, Zach Johnson gives you top-end potential at a decidedly mid-range price. The name of fantasy golf is low-risk, high-reward, and that’s just what you’ll get here.
