PLAYERS Championship: Fantasy golf tips for TPC Sawgrass

As you get closer to the top end of the salary board this week on DraftKings, there’s a bit of a logjam. That’s understandable, considering the quality of the top end of this field. However, DraftKings can’t give everybody a $10,000 salary, and that means there’s value for the player willing to look for it.

That’s where Henrik Stenson comes in. The big-hitting Swede might not be quite as dominant as he’s been in recent years, but don’t mistake that for a slump. He heads to THE PLAYERS this week on the heels of three top-ten finishes in his last four starts, and a top-25 at the Zurich Classic alongside Justin Rose.

Stenson’s game sets up almost perfectly for TPC Sawgrass, as well. The 2009 PLAYERS champion leads the PGA TOUR in both driving accuracy and greens in regulation. Unsurprisingly, he also ranks third in adjusted scoring, because that many good looks will always lead to birdies for the world’s best players.

At just $8,800, you could almost build your entire team around Stenson, leaving a lot of salary cap space for some other mid-to-upper tier players. Even as our second player on this list, he’s a strong bet to match his weekly points to his salary, and that’s the definition of a fantastic value.
