Count Billy Horschel among those who might be disappointed to not get another crack at TPC Four Seasons.

The defending AT&T Byron Nelson champ will have to go for a repeat at a new site. This isn’t even the first time this has happened to him!

Poor Billy.

Well it kind of stinks to be honest with you,” Horschel told Avid Golfer, “but I’ve had that experience before when I won a WGC event once at Cherry Hills in Denver and then they went somewhere else. You just have to remember what you did last year and channel those good thoughts.”

Horschel has good thoughts to draw from in recent weeks.

Discounting the no-cut, limited field Tournament of Champions where he finished T11, Horschel finished outside the top 40 in his first eight starts of 2018 with five missed cuts.

He’s now playing with confidence with a T5 out of nowhere at the RBC Heritage that led to a T11 at the Texas Open and a T37 at the PLAYERS.

Horschel’s been a good putter this year (34th in strokes gained) and is going to put himself in solid position off the tee.

Defending a title at the same venue can be fun, but doing so at two different places really raises the bar.
