AT&T Byron Nelson Power Rankings: Top 10 picks for Trinity Forest
Reputation alone may not have been enough for me to toss in Adam Scott this week, but I was encouraged by his T11 last week at the PLAYERS. He’s now up to three top-20 finishes in just nine starts this season.
Sometimes when it seems like Scott’s slumping, he’s really just been on a light schedule.
He’s now into the meat of the season and could be rounding into form. His normally balky putter helped him gain two strokes on the field on the greens at the PLAYERS.
Scott’s 18th on Tour in strokes gained approaching the green and his hitting the ball about as well as he has for years.
His best two finishes this season came in the second week of consecutive starts. Some continuity and a relatively weak field could be ingredients for a season best for Scotty.
A win would come 10 years after he won the Byron Nelson at TPC Four Seasons.
