It’s nice to see Jimmy Walker playing well again. I’ll admit he’s not the most exciting player to watch, but he’s regarded as a good guy on Tour.

After fighting with Lyme’s disease off and on (primarily on) throughout the past couple years, the 2016 PGA Champion is back playing to his capability.

Walker’s riding high after a T2 last week at the PLAYERS and a solo fourth at the Texas Open. He also took T20 at Augusta and has made six cuts straight.

Sprinkle in a T8 at Pebble Beach and Walker would be a prime candidate for the now defunct Comeback Player of the Year on the PGA Tour.

Last season, it was tough for Walker to summon the energy to play well for four rounds. His 21 starts in 2017 were his fewest since 2005 as a young pro.

“I feel good,” Walker said Sunday after the PLAYERS. “Physically able to work and grind and get after it and I’ve really been putting the time in and it’s just matter it of seeing some good stuff go my way, because I feel like it’s been awhile, but I’ve had last four or five tournaments I played have been really solid.”
