We now shift gears from the classic “horses for courses” pick in Zach Johnson to the also classic “hot hand” pick. A T24 in 2015 sandwiched missed cuts for Chesson Hadley at Colonial in three starts.

Hadley is on the short list of those who look primed for their first win of the season. Sure, he won 2014 Rookie of the Year on the merit of his win in Puerto Rico. It’s becoming clear the 30-year-old has blossomed into a much more consistent player.

He’s already locked up his Tour card for next year, so it’ll be interesting to see if Hadley can now make a push for the top 50 world rankings.

He climbed 14 places in these last two months thanks to five top-20 finishes.

Hadley went T18-T7-T20-T16-T11 in these starts highlighted by a T7 at the RBC Heritage where he finished just three back of the leaders.

Hadley’s final rounds have been his worst of round of the four this season, though 52nd on Tour in round four scoring (70.36) isn’t exactly choking. He’d like that 72 back Sunday at the Heritage, but other than that he’s trending toward breaking through soon.

The Georgia Tech product is 14th on Tour in fairway proximity, 17th in strokes gained putting and ninth in birdie average.

He’s missed just two cuts since the fall and is coming off a week of rest. For the odds you’ll get him at, Hadley appears a good value for daily fantasy or against the odds.
