BMW PGA Championship Power Rankings: Top 10 picks at Wentworth
Tyrrell Hatton’s made the weekend each of his four trips to the BMW PGA. A player of his caliber should now be seeking more.
Hatton posted a T7 at Wentworth in 2016 and had a nice tournament spoiled by a Sunday 74 last year (T30).
It wasn’t long after last year’s BMW when Hatton revved up for two wins and nine total top-25s to close out 2017. He has two third-place finishes in 2018, one coming at the WGC-Mexico Championship. Hatton also made the knockout stage at the WGC-Match Play.
The BMW PGA is an inspiring event for the Marlow, Buckinghamshire, native who grew up 20 miles from Wentworth.
“I’ve been walking around this place since a five-year-old, and I was in awe of the guys inside of the ropes, and for me now, playing my third BMW PGA, it’s great,” Hatton said in 2016. “I love this event.”
Hatton’s been locked in with his irons this year, sitting 13th on the European Tour in strokes gained tee to green and 31st in SG approaching the green. He’s eighth in stroke average.
