BMW PGA Championship Power Rankings: Top 10 picks at Wentworth
A win this week would do wonders for Tommy Fleetwood’s bid to become a back-to-back Race to Dubai winner. The Englishman’s third in the RtD standings despite dipping his toes in the PGA Tour waters more this year.
Fleetwood has just one missed cut to his name since September. He beat a healthy field in Abu Dhabi and most recently finished T7 at the PLAYERS.
Fleetwood posted a T6 at the 2015 BMW PGA.
The Southport native grew up on the opposite end of the country, though that won’t do much to tamp down the galleries’ enthusiasm.
“I’ve always liked the golf course at Wentworth and last year I thought the changes were great,” Fleetwood was quoted by the European Tour. “The changes were definitely positive and everybody seemed to like them. It’s a great course and I really like the layout. Hopefully I can do well in May and continue the form I’ve shown so far this year.”
Fleetwood’s PGA Tour stats this season are pretty solid across the board. What impresses most is that he’s ninth in strokes gained tee to green. A talented ball striker will be served well at a course this week that requires a lot of commitment to each shot.
