Memorial Tournament Power Rankings: Top 10 picks for Muirfield Village
Jason Day’s playing as well as most any on Tour right now. He’s got wins at the Farmers Insurance Open and the Wells Fargo Championship to go with a runner-up and a T5 at the PLAYERS. Sprinkle in a T20 at the Masters and it’s easy to see Day’s grooving right now.
Day dipped to No. 14 in the world ranking last year amid injuries and his mother’s illness. He’s dealt with these things admirably and now has a renewed hunger.
"“I’ve got to work harder than everyone else, and I’ve just got to keep pushing and trying to reach that goal again of getting to No. 1,” Day said after the PLAYERS. “I’m just as hungry as I was at the start of the year right now and moving forward.”"
At the Memorial, Day’s made two-thirds of his cuts. He posted a personal best T15 last year despite an opening 75.
Day is sixth on Tour in par-4 scoring and 17th on par-5s.
His proximity to the hole this season is below his standards, but it doesn’t really matter when you’re first in putting like Day.
