Memorial Tournament Power Rankings: Top 10 picks for Muirfield Village
Matt Kuchar’s made over $5 million at this tournament alone in his career. Kuchar won here by two in 2013 and has five total top-fives at the Memorial.
Most recently he tied for fourth in 2017.
"“This course offers great variety. It’s got long hard holes. It’s got short holes. It’s got short holes where, if you’re on the wrong side, you can turn a short hole into an easy bogey or double bogey pretty quickly,” Kuchar said in 2016. “So precision is key for sure. Here length is always an advantage. It’s never not.”"
It’s not a kept stat (at least not yet), but I’d venture to guess Kuchar is among the leaders in uphill putts and/or missing on the right side of holes.
Kuchar is 13th in sand saves, 17th in proximity from the rough and 22nd from the fairway. No one part of his game has truly shined this season, but he’s ground out some high finishes.
Kuch has a top-10, won his pool at the WGC-Match Play and recently saw his 30-tournament cut streak snap at the Byron Nelson.
Sure enough, he got back on the horse with a T32 last week at Colonial.
Kuchar’s made the weekend 11 of 12 times at the Memorial and hasn’t missed since 2003. Expect that trend to continue, and more.
