Italian Open Power Rankings: Top ten picks at Gardagolf
This 27-year-old Swede is having a phenomenal sophomore season. Alexander Bjork won his maiden European Tour event last month at the China Open as part of three top-10s and five top-20s in 2018.
His bogey-free 65 on Sunday showed a lot of mettle.
“…it was nice that it worked so well today under the pressure,” Bjork was quoted by Golfweek. “I was still able to hit good shots.”
He comes to Gardagolf on the strength of four made cuts in a row (all T39 or better) and has made six of his last seven.
Against upper end fields, Bjork had a solid T6 in Dubai and was T27 last week at the BMW PGA.
Bjork is 19th in strokes gained tee to green and fifth on approaches.
In his last trip to Italy, Bjork tied for 40th in 2017 as a rookie.
