Matt Fitzpatrick recalibrated in his home country last week. The Englishman finished T8 at the BMW PGA for his first top-10 since he finished T3 in his season opener in Abu Dhabi.

While he hasn’t contended as often in 2018 as many would expect from the four-time winner, he’s not too far off. He finished T14 at the PGA Tour’s RBC Heritage and made the cut at the PLAYERS and the Masters.

The 23-year-old has done a lot of traveling this season and has yet to play two European Tour events in a row. A little continuity this week could do wonders.

Perhaps coming back to Italy, albeit away from Milano, will do Fitzpatrick some good, too. He placed T16 and T15 in his last two Italian Open starts.

A shorter, tree-lined course seems like the ticket for Fitzpatrick. He’s 183rd in driving distance and 37th in accuracy. He’s one of this week’s best putters, checking in at 10th in strokes gained and is fourth in one-putts.
