Mr. Consistency is having another steady season. Howell III is up to four top-10s this season and has racked up a streak of eight made cuts in a row. He recently had a T9 at the Byron Nelson and acquitted himself well at the PLAYERS with a T17.

At TPC Southwind, Howell’s made seven cuts in 10 tries. He contended back in 2011 (T3) and has five finishes inside the top 30.

Chucky Three Sticks is hitting his irons well this season. He’s 22nd in greens in regulation (69.69%) and should be able to locate the small putting surfaces in play this week.

Howell III is right on the bubble at No. 60 in the world rankings to qualify for next week’s U.S. Open. If he can’t get it done at sectional qualifying, he’ll be all-in on posting a high finish in Memphis.

He was injured this time last year, so this will be Howell III’s first FedEx St. Jude start since he finished T26 in 2016.

There are few, if any, who have seen this course as much as Howell III over the years. If familiarity and making the cut are key factors for you, this is your guy. Who knows, he may even end his confounding 11-year drought once and for all.
