File this one under the Horses for Courses category. Billy Horschel has used TPC Southwind as his personal ATM machine, piling up top-10s in each of his last four trips. His T4 last year culminated a 27-under-par total over 288 holes.

It’s a course he enjoys playing, even when he’s left to scrape it around without a putter.

“I think this is an underrated golf course. I think it’s probably one of the top-five golf courses in my opinion, but you don’t get the big names here because of Open the week after,” Horschel said in 2015. “And I think they come here, they will realize how great of a golf course this is, how challenging of a course it is, and how it prepares you for the U.S. Open. I think underappreciated. I love coming here. I love this event.”

After a slow start to the year, Horschel is playing well with three top-25s in his last five starts, one being a T5 at the Texas Open.

He’s on pace for his best putting season of his career (27th in strokes gained). His ball striking stats aren’t up to his potential, but they’re improving in recent weeks.

It’s about time Horschel won this tournament. Now seems as good a time as anyany.
