Henrik Stenson is making his first FedEx St. Jude appearance since 2012. He recovered nicely from a 72 on Thursday to finish T13 in what was his second start at TPC Southwind.

Stenson comes into the week on an impressive run of golf. The Swede has made five top-25s in a row, the latest a T13 last week at the Memorial. He has five top-10s worldwide in 2018 and only one missed cut.

He’s pulverizing the ball, per usual. In strokes gained, Stenson is third on Tour approaching the green, 19th off the tee and is also 33rd in putting for good measure. He can hit his trusty 3-wood off most every hole this week to keep up his first-place mark in fairways (78.45%) and GIR (74.79%).

Stenson also leads in par-4 scoring (3.9). Having took two weeks off prior to the Memorial, Stenson should be rested and ready for a big week leading up to Shinnecock next week.

Usually Stenson is over in Europe playing the Nordea Masters in his native Scandinavia, but the European Tour schedule has been altered to make room for this week’s inaugural Shot Clock Masters.

I like Stenson’s chances to win, but he may have to edge out my next pick a la the 2016 Open Championship to do so.
