FedEx St. Jude Classic Power Rankings: Top 10 picks for TPC Southwind
Brooks Koepka appears to be rounding into form after his wrist injury. The 2017 U.S. Open champ is playing his best golf of the year after posting a T11 at the PLAYERS and a solo second at Colonial in the last two of his four total starts in 2018 (five if you count the Zurich Classic).
“I feel like my game is coming around. New Orleans I was five days into touching clubs,” Koepka said at Colonial. “I am finally finding a rhythm and feel like I’m getting really close.”
On the season, Koepka is marginally positive in all strokes gained categories save for approaches.
As he gets more starts under him, his putting stroke should get more consistent; he was top 15 on Tour last year in strokes gained putting.
Speaking of last year, Koepka had his worst start in four tries at the FedEx St. Jude. It’s not all bad when a T37 is your worst effort. In years prior, Koepka posted T19-T13-T2.
He’s one of the few big names who sat out last week’s Memorial, nor did he have to play a Monday U.S. Open qualifier. Combine that with the fact that he’s one of the most talented player in the field and I like his chances to pick off a win in Memphis.
