Fantasy Golf Peter Uihlein

Peter Uihein has been performing at a very high level over the last month, after an April slump that saw him miss three consecutive cuts. Since failing to play the weekend at the Zurich Classic, Uihlein has a pair of top-five finishes (at Quail Hollow and Muirfield Village), as well as at top-25 at the AT&T Byron Nelson.

This will be Uihlein’s second crack at TPC Southwind, after his 2017 debut ended in an MDF. If you’re a glass half-full kind of person, you’ll focus on the “M” in that acronym – “made cut”. Thankfully, that’s the type of guy I am, so this is right up my alley.

Uihlein currently ranks 37th on TOUR in greens-in-regulation percentage (68.91%) and 57th in adjusted scoring. He’s currently top-15 in scoring average for the third and fourth rounds, obviously bolstered by some of his recent performances. However, he’s also inside the top 20 in par-4 and par-5 scoring for the year. Those are critical marks, and ones that will pay massive dividends as he continues to grow into his game.

From a fantasy golf perspective, this is a matter of riding the hot hand. Most of the time, players with recent runs like Uihlein will see a significant spike in their DraftKings salary. At just $8,500, Uihlein is a moderate investment with basically uncapped potential. I expect him to give most players a solid return, and he’ll fill a valuable mid-salary role on your roster this weekend.
