Fantasy Golf Daniel Berger FedEx St. Jude Classic

Based on many of the stats I’ve pointed out so far, I’d understand if you suddenly questioned me. How can I possibly think Daniel Berger, with his $10,000 DraftKings salary, is a good value right now?

Here are some facts: Daniel Berger is currently 86th in the FedEx Cup race, and 41st in the Official World Golf Ranking. He hasn’t shot a round lower than 68 in three months (a 67 on March 4, the final round of the WGC-Mexico Championship), and he’s got just two top-25s in the last four months.

Of course, here’s one more fact. Berger has played the FedEx St. Jude Classic twice, and he’s won it twice. Small sample size or not, the guy’s batting a thousand at TPC Southwind. And it’s not like he was exactly lighting the world on fire coming in last year, either.

I’m going to find a way to get Daniel Berger in as many lineups as I can this week. I’ll find value lower on the salary range, or I’ll sacrifice higher-priced players. His scoring average over the last two years in Memphis is a fantastic 67.125, even with an opening 70 last year. Sure, going 66-66 on the weekend helps. But that just shows the potential Berger has to go crazy here at any moment.

I make it a point to balance the salaries on my roster as much as I can, but this week, Berger isn’t even the most expensive player I’m drafting. Let others be scared off by his recent performances. You’ll be laughing all the way to the fantasy bank.
