Travelers Championship Power Rankings: Top 10 at TPC River Highlands
As far as Travelers Championship wins go these days, Leishman’s one-shot victory over Charley Hoffman and Bubba Watson in 2012 was a romp. Leishman posted a Sunday 62 and sat back and watched as Watson’s 65 and Hoffman’s 66 proved feeble.
The Aussie has played well in Cromwell throughout his career.
Leishman is 7-for-7 in cuts made with a T11 in 2014, T9 in 2016 and T17 last year.
"“I think it’s a fun golf course. If you’re playing well, you can make a lot of birdies. If you’re not playing well, you can make bogeys. It’s funny,” Leishman said in 2013. “The way I sort of think of a good golf course and a bad golf course is if you tee off the first all of a sudden you’re in the 15th, and it feels like it’s only been an hour or two, that’s a good golf course because you’re enjoying the holes.”"
Big Leish is having a nice 2017-18 season with a runner-up to Justin Thomas at the CJ Cup, a T4 at his home Australian PGA and five top-tens since New Years, one being a solo second at the Byron Nelson.
Leishman played well in spots at the U.S. Open. including a 69 on Friday en route to a T45.
On the season, Leishman’s 19th in birdie average, 40th in strokes gained on approaches and 17th in par-4 scoring. His 61 at the Byron Nelson is the lowest round on the PGA Tour this season.
He’s missed just two cuts this season.
