I’m willing to discard Jimmy Walker’s missed cut here last year due to his rocky comeback from Lyme disease.

Now in much better health, Walker is showing us why he’s a six-time PGA Tour winner and a major champion.

Walker comes to Maryland off of nine made cuts in a row. Before his T56 at the U.S. Open, Walker finished T20 or better in five straight events.

He went 4-T2-6 at the Texas Open, PLAYERS and Byron Nelson.

In strokes gained, Walker is 25th in approaches, 26th around the green and 39th in putting. He’s 23rd in scrambling inside 10 yards.

Walker’s made the news more lately for his opinions on backstopping, but don’t lose sight of his strong play. He’s one of the most decorated players in the field this week and is trending toward a win.
