We go from one Englishman named Matt to another in Matt Wallace.

He is having a splendid sophomore campaign on the European Tour with a win earlier this year at the Indian Open and again two weeks ago at the BMW International Open.

Wallace also was T3 at the China Open and T20 at the BMW PGA.

He’s likely to be on the outside looking in for the Ryder Cup this fall, but a high finish this week will continue to give captain Bjorn more to think about.

Wallace doesn’t have a big flaw in his stats as he’s 62nd in strokes gained putting, 79th in SG around the green, 77th in SG tee to green and 42nd in SG off the tee.

After winning six times on the Alps Tour and three times in less than two season on the European Tour, Wallace, 28, has proven he can get it done on Sunday.

He’ll vie for his first triumph on a links course this week.
