Steve Stricker is playing good golf on both the PGA Tour and the PGA Tour Champions. The 51-year-old is seventh on the senior circuit money list and with two wins despite playing in half as many events as the full-time guys out there.

Stricker has made the cut in seven of eight PGA Tour events and has finished T32 or better each time on the weekend. It’s just tough for him to keep the pedal down for all four rounds. His best result is a T12 at the Valspar.

His last top-five on Tour came at last year’s John Deere Classic, but that’s not even the half of his success in Silvis.

The beloved Wisconsin native and University of Illinois grad went back-to-back-to-back between 2009-2011. Stricker went a combined 68-under in that span including a tournament record 26-under in 2010 to win by two.

He has five other top-11 finishes and hasn’t missed a cut, let alone finish worse than 62nd, since he MC’d his first time at TPC Deere Run in 2003.

"“You know, I really do enjoy coming here. I really do,” Stricker said in 2011. “The reason I wasn’t here those previous years is because it’s right up against the British Open, but I’m so glad that I came back here. And you know, I won’t miss this again. I really won’t. I really enjoy coming here. The people are so good to me here.”"

Stricker is gaining more than a stroke per round this season on Tour tee to green. His putter has been surprisingly cold, but I expect that to heat up right along with the expected temperatures in the 80s and 90s in the Quad Cities.
