After disappearing for much of the 2010s, 46-year-old Brian Gay has found new life in 2017 and 2018.

The former Florida Gator picked up four top-10s in 2017 and is up to three already in 2018.

He comes to the Barbasol Championship making seven of his last eight cuts. A T8 at the Quicken Loans and Pebble Beach are his best results this season.

Gay has a reputation as a good putter, which checks out on the stat sheet. He’s 28th in strokes gained to pair with 33rd in SG around the green.

He may have trouble getting to the par-5s this week, but playing from the fairway (15th in accuracy) should give him a chance regardless.

It’s been almost a decade since Gay won on Tour, but he’s trying to prove it’s not too late to tack on some more.
