Ian Poulter went over a decade seeing Glen Abbey since competing in an early 2000s skins game to last year.

He looked like a course member.

Thanks to a closing 64, the Englishman finished solo third at 20-under and just one shot out of a playoff. His 268 final score would have won all but two times the Canadian Open has been held at Glen Abbey.

Poulter comes into this event off a missed cut at the Open Championship. His fans will hope it doesn’t slow his impressive play prior.

Poulter had made 10 cuts in a row, including a win at the Houston Open, three other top-10s and no finishes worse than T44.

His ball striking has been in vintage form. Poulter’s 22nd on Tour in strokes gained approaching the green and he is above Tour average in the main strokes gained categories.

Poulter has been accurate off the tee and can also play from the rough (21st in proximity) if need be.
