A few Americans aren’t ready to quite leave Europe, one being Pat Perez.

The Californian had a stellar end to 2017 and had a solid West Coast swing. He’s appeared to figure things out further east with four cuts in his last five starts including a T17 last week at the Open.

He was in contention entering the weekend at Carnoustie.

Perez won the CIMB Classic last fall and has seven top-30s since.

Perez is a European Tour member, so is he available in all fantasy games.

He is eighth on the PGA Tour in birdies made and it’s because of his iron play. Perez is 40th in greens in regulation and 32nd in proximity to the hole.

He’s also 22nd in driving accuracy, which will be important for him at a big ballpark like Green Eagle.

Perez shot a 76 and signed an incorrect scorecard last year at the Porsche European Open, leading to a withdrawal. Not great, but at least he’s familiar with the course.

If this course plays even a fraction as firm as Carnoustie last week, which is possible looking at the scorching temperatures predicted for Germany, Perez will be in good shape to stick around for more than one round this time.
