Billy Horschel RBC Canadian Open DraftKings Fantasy Golf
LEXINGTON, KY – JULY 23: Billy Horschel hits his tee shot on the first hole during a continuation of the final round of the Barbasol Championship at Keene Trace Golf Club on July 23, 2018 in Lexington, Kentucky. (Photo by Stacy Revere/Getty Images) /

It doesn’t feel like four years since Billy Horschel won the FedEx Cup, does it? He had a couple of down years in there, but it looks like he’s on the upswing once again. This week is a great opportunity to get Horschel’s hot hand in your lineup without paying too large of a premium.

Many of you might have enjoyed playing him in the opposite-field event last week, the Barbasol Championship. There, he finished tied as the runner-up, shooting 22-under-par with all four rounds at 68 or better. That’s a mark he’s actually reached in eight of his last nine rounds, going back to the Travelers Championship last month.

Horschel did struggle in his last (and only) trip to Glen Abbey in 2013. That year, he shot 72-77 on the weekend to drop into a tie for 68th place, but his game is in much better form now than it was five years ago.

Horschel is currently 34th on TOUR in greens-in-regulation and 23rd in strokes gained putting. He’s not a monster off the tee, but he is accurate, and that will help him as he approaches Glen Abbey’s relatively small putting surfaces.

Much like we covered with Varner, Horschel’s salary of $8,000 on DraftKings is relatively small, and the chance for him to significantly outperform that number is worth the minor risk.
