Charley Hoffman has been struggling a bit in the 2017-18 PGA TOUR season, but don’t let that scare you away. Rather, use his lowered value to pick up your fantasy golf roster this week on DraftKings.

It might seem scary at first, when you look at Hoffman’s overall results. He’s failed to score a single top ten through 20 starts, and he had five at this same time a year ago. However, he’s also coming in on a bit of a hot streak, with three straight top-20 finishes to his credit.

While The Open doesn’t use the same ShotLink data that most PGA TOUR events compile, Hoffman did have a strong week at Carnoustie, tying for 19th in total birdies and no doubles or worse for the week. He tied for 12th in greens in regulation at the Travelers, converting 18 birdies against just six bogeys. Shinnecock might not be the best example, considering the USGA’s brutal setup decisions, but he was inside the top-25 in GIR percentage there, as well.

If you’re looking for a comfort pick, Hoffman is your guy at Glen Abbey, as well. He was the runner-up here last year (at -21 for the week!), tied for seventh in 2015, and tied for 16th in 2013 despite a closing round of 74.

$8,700 isn’t too steep of a price for a guy who has the upside of a potential top-five finish. Fantasy golf is won by players who take smart risks that others won’t. Charley Hoffman can be that pick this week.
