Barracuda Championship: Power ranking the top 10 golfers at Montreux
Bronson Burgoon is resilient. After a disappointing 2015-16 rookie season on the PGA Tour, Burgoon took his licks on the Web.com Tour and is back with the big boys.
If he’s not already assured a spot in the top 125, even just a decent finish this week will lock up his card.
Based on recent results, he’s not far from erasing all doubt and just winning.
The 31-year-old Texan posted a career best T2 this month at the John Deere Classic. He also picked up a T6 at the Quicken Loans National where he stood up to the test of getting paired with Tiger, carding a 67 against Woods’ 66.
Burgoon comes to Nevada having missed his last two cuts, but never fear: He missed two in a row prior to his play described above (which also includes a T30 at the Greenbrier).
The former Texas A&M Aggie is both long (34th in distance) and straight (44th accuracy) off the tee and hits plenty of greens (44th). Burgoon is also an above average putter and is ninth in par-5 scoring.
Burgoon finished T23 at his Barracuda Championship debut in 2016. He posted two rounds of +11 on the week.
