Barracuda Championship: Power ranking the top 10 golfers at Montreux
At alternate field events, it’s not always a great thing that you’re returning to defend your title. Chris Stroud would much rather be in the WGC-Bridgestone field, but coming back to the place of your maiden PGA Tour win could get his game back on track.
Stroud finished at +44 for the tournament thanks to a scorching +20 on Sunday that translated to a 64 in stroke play and finished with an eagle on 18 to post an early score.
Stroud has three top-40 finishes in his last four starts but is still looking for his first top-10.
The 36-year-old Texan is a positive in strokes gained on approaches and also owns above average accuracy off the tee. He’s 64th in putts per round, also.
Prior to his 2017 Barracuda Championship win, Stroud made appearances at Montreaux in 2007, 2009 and 2016.
