Paul Casey has been one of the more consistent players in the world. He’s missed just one cut in 2018 and is a surprise when he’s not on the first page or two of the leaderboard.

The Englishman has a win this season at the Valspar Championship to headline 14 top-20s since the fall. He’s played the week in eight straight majors and was top-20 this year at the Masters and U.S. Open.

The 41-year-old is 62nd or better in all strokes gained categories including eighth off the tee. There isn’t a weak club in his bag.

He’s 31st in strokes gained putting and sixth inside 10 feet. Casey is 17th in strokes gained around the green and is a good bunker player (15th in sand saves).

Casey is able to hit it close on these large greens; he’s 15th in proximity from the rough and 34th from the fairway.

His only missed cut in 2018 was back at the RBC Heritage in April, a tight, short course unlike Bellerive with its much larger greens and bigger fairways.

Casey is among the best without a major in today’s game. He’s made the cut in eight straight majors and was inside the top 20 this year at the Masters and U.S. Open.

I predict he makes a step forward and puts his hat in the ring late on a Sunday.
