Justin Thomas went head-to-head with Jimmy Fallon on “The Tonight Show” this week. The big winner? St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Justin Thomas pretty much has it made these days. He’s winning everything in sight, and he’s become legitimately one of the best golfers in the planet. Thomas is also the reigning FedEx Cup champion, and that brought him to one of the few “dream matches” he had left on the list.

Facing off with Jimmy Fallon on “The Tonight Show”.

It makes more sense than you might think, really. Fallon is a full-blown golf lover, and one of the few non-pros to grace the cover of Golf Digest. He’s had tons of players as guests, including Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy and Jordan Spieth.

Thomas, like so many others, is also a big fan of Fallon and “Tonight”. So when FedEx decided to up the ante for Thomas’s appearance in famed Studio 6B at Rockefeller Plaza, things were bound to get interesting.

Thomas talked plenty about this season, specifically touching on the resurgence of Tiger Woods at the past week’s PGA Championship, as well as the Ryder Cup coming this fall. However, the biggest thrill of the night came when the PGA TOUR’s reigning Player of the Year teed it up against the SNL alum in a game of “Face Breakers”.

If you’re not familiar with the segment, just check out the clip below – it pretty much speaks for itself.

A few things pop out here. For starters, how lucky is Jimmy that Justin’s first shot didn’t come off the frame a little hotter? Also, Thomas’s move is pretty solid in a suit – but we’ve seen him looking dapper on the course before, too.

As relaxed as this friendly “competition” was, Thomas still wound up on top, breaking all of Jimmy’s faces on the wall. Sure, he’ll need a quick trip to the Titleist truck before the Northern Trust, but the real winner here is the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

FedEx, a long-time partner of the PGA TOUR, stepped up to donate $1 million to the Children’s Hospital in the winner’s name.

"“Appearing on the Tonight Show and meeting Jimmy Fallon has been on my bucket list for quite some time, and it was a blast to go head-to-head with him in a game,” said Thomas. “In my line of work on the PGA TOUR, I’m very fortunate to be a part of many amazing opportunities and it’s extra special when I can team up with great organizations like FedEx and St. Jude to help make a positive impact in the lives of children and their families.”"

A great outing for both Thomas and Fallon, some great laughs, a bit of non-traditional exposure for golf, AND a big donation to one of the best causes out there? That’s a win for everyone. Here’s hoping the two can have a rematch before long.

With the way Justin Thomas has been playing, it may be to celebrate another FedEx Cup.
