Webb Simpson has already locked up a Ryder Cup spot. Now he’s looking to peak at the right time, and make a run at the FedEx Cup.

He nearly won last week at the Wyndham Championship, finishing T2 only behind Brandt Snedeker’s 21-under-par romp.

That was Simpson’s fifth made cut in his last six tries and his fourth straight top-25. His recent results: T12 at the Open Championship, T24 at the WGC-Bridgestone, T19 at the PGA Championship and T2 last week.

He’s got seven top-10s on the year and is back to his consistent self pre-anchored putter ban.

Simpson is 12th in strokes gained putting, 15th in SG approaching the green and 30th in SG around the green.

His results at Ridgewood aren’t spectacular — T36 in 2010, MC in 2014 — but he’s in much better stead headed to New Jersey this time around.
