The Northern Trust: Power rankings for the FedEx Cup Playoff opener
Justin Rose played well in his last start at the PGA Championship after taking the WGC-Bridgestone off due to back concerns.
It was more precautionary, and Rose turned around and placed T19 at Bellerive the next week. It preserved the Englishman’s cuts made streak to 17 in a row dating back to last summer.
Rose won this spring at the Fort Worth Invitational and since has placed T6-T10-T9-T2-T19.
He’s 10th on Tour in strokes gained tee to green and is second in overall strokes gained due to his proficiency in all facets. Rose is in the top 40 in all main strokes gained categories.
He’s 25th in proximity from the rough and 16th in strokes gained around the green. When things get tough, Rose sticks it out as well as anyone and always seems to find a way to get into red numbers.
At Ridgewood, Rose finished T15 in 2010 and T30 in 2014. He’s a cumulative 10-under in eight rounds here.
