The Northern Trust: Power rankings for the FedEx Cup Playoff opener
Justin Thomas beat the world’s best a few weeks ago at the WGC-Bridgestone. He’s had another stellar season that’s up to two wins, seven top-10s and only missed cut. He’s finished outside the top 25 just twice in 17 starts!
Thomas is second on Tour in strokes gained approach and tee to green. He has no weak clubs in his bag and is well in the positive in all the main strokes gained categories.
Thomas is fourth in par breakers and third in par-4 scoring. There isn’t a course he can’t tame and the fact that this is his the 25-year-old’s first start at Ridgewood shouldn’t be a big deterrent.
Like almost everyone on this list, he’s fresh off a week of rest in prep for a busy stretch of golf.
