The first big winner of the major season was the big man who brought home the green jacket and his first major championship, Patrick Reed. He was at the top of the leaderboard pretty much the entire tournament by firing off three straight rounds in the 60s to open the tournament.

On Sunday at Augusta, he showed what he was really made of under pressure, with both Jordan Spieth and Rickie Fowler nipping at his heels. Reed made birdies at holes 12 and 14 to seal the Masters victory.

He followed that up with another impressive performance at the U.S. Open, finishing in fourth place. His final round 68 was one of the only red numbers that course allowed all week and it put him in the hunt towards the end of the tournament.

Reed failed to impress at the British Open and missed the cut at the PGA Championship, but his only win of the season at the Masters and another top five finish in major competition is plenty enough for him to make the winner list.
