Sergio Garcia The Masters

After Sergio Garcia finally got the monkey off his back and won his first major championship in last year’s Masters, he seemed to be playing the best golf of his career. However he was far from repeating as Masters champion this season, and had one of the more embarrassing moments of the year during the tournament.

On 15th hole he carded a 13 and basically ruined any chance of him defending his title. Garcia looked like he was trying to recreate the final scene in Tin Cup by continuously hitting the same shot in the water over and over.

He did not fare much better in any of the other majors this season either; he missed the cut in all four of them and barely even sniffed the cut line. For now it looks as if Garcia’s masters victory will be the lone major championship in his roller coaster career.

He only managed one victory this season and it was one of the first tournaments of the year when he was still ranked in the top 10 golfers in the world, now he is sitting outside the top 20 after a down season.
