There’s still gas left in the tank for Lee Westwood. The 45-year-old Englishman would love to win again to fully affirm that statement.

His play in 2018 shows he might be close. He’s likely to see his streak of 10 straight Ryder Cups come to an end, but he’s still a cut-making machine well into his 40s.

Westy’s made three in a row entering the week and eight of his last nine worldwide in a light 2018 slate.

Westwood finished T5 at the Italian Open earlier this summer and went T19 at the Irish Open and T32 at the Scottish Open, a pair of Rolex Series events.

He ranks 12th on the European Tour in par-5 scoring and is also playing the par-3s under par this year.

Unsurprisingly, the proud ball striker is sixth in strokes gained tee to green and is a solid 26th in scrambling.

Westwood finished T27 at the 2016 Czech Masters and returned with a T9 in 2017. His 68 on Sunday last year tied for low round of the day in difficult scoring conditions.
