Dell Technologies Championship: Power Ranking the top 10 at TPC Boston
One-hundred players are in New England for the Dell Technologies Championship, with 70 spots on the line for the BMW Championship. Who will advance to round three of the FedEx Cup Playoffs?
The FedEx Cup Playoffs march on this week with the Dell Technologies Championship at TPC Boston in Norton, Massachusetts. The event has been held here since 2003 and generally receives favorable reviews from the pros.
The 7,342-yard par 71 is an Arnold Palmer design that opened in 2003. It has since undergone renovations by Gil Hanse and Brad Faxon. Last season it ranked 27th out of 50 in terms of difficulty and winning scores have historically fallen between 14- and 22-under-par.
Stay in good position here and low scores can be had. Trouble does lurk, though, with water on about half the holes and a healthy amount of bunkering.
Several players took last week’s Northern Trust event off, but this week as of Monday afternoon only Rickie Fowler and Francesco Molinari are idle. Both are locks to make the top 70 to advance to the BMW Championship in a couple weeks.
The greens this week are bent grass.
Like most weeks, good tee to green players should thrive here. Par-4 and par-5 birdie percentage/scoring are good stats to keep an eye on as well.
Let’s find out who shapes up to have a big week in Boston.
